Innovation Lab : Multi-Omics into care
Question:
How can multi-omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, etc.) be effectively integrated into actionable and cost-effective clinical workflows to enable personalized medicine approaches ?
Proposed solution:
To facilitate the adoption of multi-omics-driven decision support tools in routine care, a strategic approach should involve the co-development of predictive technologies and harmonized clinical guidelines. This process should begin with pilot projects focused on specific disease areas, allowing for iterative validation and refinement. Such approach should take place at the level of Wallonia, involving several hospitals, research centers, (sampling/diagnostic) companies, patient associations…
Establishing standardized protocols and data harmonization practices will help reduce technical and methodological biases. Streamlining the technological landscape can also accommodate varying levels of digital readiness across healthcare settings.
